1946年東京に生まれ、小学4年から高校卒業までを奄美で育つ。

日本舞踊、モダンダンスを経て、新しい踊りを模索していた折、笠井叡の文章「文明は肉体の内に死滅せよ(現代詩手帖・1969年9月号)に衝撃を受け、開設間もない天使館の門を叩く。以来、閉館時の1979年までの10年間笠井叡に師事。

天使館公演

「開」(1971年)、「丘の麓」(1971年)、「三つの秘蹟のための舞踏会」(1972年)、「七つの封印」(1973年)、「幻想庭園」(1974年)等に出演。

ソロリサイタルは「阿麻彌姑賛歌」(1975年・赤坂公会堂)、「砂漠の青玉」(1977年・東京第一生命ホール)、「刀自へ」(1981年・三百人劇場)。

他にも、「夕南風」(1983年・奄美、名瀬市公民館)、パフォーマンスの現在「詩と舞と紙芝居」(1984年・沖縄ジャンジャン)等多数。

About Kumiko Iwakiri

Born in Tokyo in 1946 and raised in Amami from the age of ten, Kumiko Iwakiri studied Japanese traditional dance and modern dance before joining Tenshikan under the direction of Akira Kasai in 1969. She performed in many of Tenshikan's early productions and has continued her artistic journey through numerous solo performances and collaborations.
